Understanding the BasicsTo start, each player receives a 9×9 quilt board and five buttons. Buttons serve double duty in the game; they are both your currency to purchase fabric patches and your final points. All the oddly shaped, tetromino-like patches are arranged in a random circle around a central time-tracking board. A neutral token is placed to mark the start of the available pieces. On your turn, you can either buy a patch or advance your time token. Purchasing a patch costs buttons and forces your time token forward. Advancing your token simply moves you past your opponent, providing a crucial burst of button income in the process
