Sirius shines with a brilliant white light that often flashes with rainbow colors due to atmospheric turbulence. On the opposite side of Orion lies Pegasus, the Winged Horse. The main body of Pegasus forms a massive, empty-looking square known as the Great Square of Pegasus, which helps students find the nearby Andromeda Galaxy.

Virgo is the second-largest constellation in the sky and features the bright white star Spica.
